6 Incredible Nude Beaches in Sydney

7 November 2022

You probably typed in Nude Beach Sydney into Google to get here. Which means you’re probably seeking incredible nude beaches in Sydney to get your kit off.  We live in Sydney and these are our absolute top spot to visit that we recommend everyone explore.

Charlie’s favourite is number 3. Mine is number 2. Either way, they’re all incredible.

Enjoy these nude beaches in Sydney!

Related: We’ve included a list of top gay beaches in Sydney to visit too, which includes nude and non-nude beaches.

1. Obelisk - Sydney Nude Beach

Nude Beach Sydney - Obelisk

Obelisk nude beach in Sydney is one of the most popular of the lot. It’s beautiful, easy to get to, and much more quiet than Little Congwong.

You’ll see a fair few people visit on boats, jump off into the water and soak up the sun from the deck.

Best time to go: morning.

2. Cobblers - Nudist Beach in Sydney

Cobblers is my all-time favourite nude beach in Sydney because of the sunsets. We used to play naked frisbee at this beach and then stay for sunset. It’s more family-friendly and has such a nice vibe.

Best time to visit: afternoon

3. Lady Bay Beach

Nude beach Sydney; Gay beach Sydney - Lady Jane

This Sydney nude beach is pretty epic too. I saw someone bring their cat on a leash to this beach, and it was the only thing clothed because it had a harness on.

If someone is willing to bring a cat to a nude beach in Sydney, it has to be worth it. Right?

Best time to visit: afternoon.

4. Little Congwong (near La Perouse) – Nudist Beach in Sydney

Sydney gay nude beach Australia - nude beach Sydney - Little Congwong

This is the most popular of our “nude beach Sydney” list. It’s also Charlie’s favourite, even though a giant lizard jumped on his face once here while he was reading. Says alot huh?

Most people know this beach a La Perouse nude beach, but it’s actually called Little Congwong which is next to La Perouse beach.

On a hot weekend, this beach will be absolutely packed and it’s hard to find a spot. But on a weekday, it’s super quiet and you’ll actually feel like you’re in paradise.

Best time to visit: midweek; afternoon.

5. Washaway - Nude Beach Sydney

Washaway Nude Beach Sydney
This is a lesser-known Sydney nude beach because of its accessibility. It’s only accessible when it’s low tide, hence the name Washaway. You have to scramble down some rocks to get onto this beach to but once you’re there, you’ll know it’s worth it. Best time to visit: low-tide; morning. P.s. You can always check the tides on WillyWeather (appropriate name, given this blog!).

6. Werrong - Sydney Royal National Park

Our favourite nude beach just outside of Sydney, Werrong has spectacular views left, right, and centre. It’s nestled in the Sydney Royal National Park and requires a 30-minute hike down to it but it’s so worth it.

We’ve stayed here during the night with our tent, listening to the sound of the ocean and watching the stars.

You have to visit Werrong.

Best time to visit: morning.
