Maslin nude Beach near Adelaide is by far the best nude beach in South Australia. Given it’s only about 1 hour south from Adelaide, this beach is definitely a must-do when you’re in the area.
When we shared on our Instagram that Balding Bay was one of our favourite nude beaches in Australia, loads of people responded with:
“What about the gay beach near Adelaide, Maslins beach?”
“You obviously haven’t been to the nude Beach in South Australia yet: Maslin”.
“Why not Maslin nude beach in Adelaide?”
So we starred it on our google maps, and counted down the days until we could visit.
After one and a half years of traveling Australia by van, we finally learnt what all the hype was about.
Australia's very first nude beach - Maslin Beach
Maslin beach is Australia’s very first legal nude beach, with the southern end being legally declared a nudist beach in 1975. Yay for nudism!
Not only that, but this beach holds The Annual Nude Games, a social even that helps bring the nudist community together to bare it all while keeping fit. There’s even a prize for the best bum!
It’s our favourite beach in South Australia, and below you’ll find 7 pictures of Maslin beach that will make you want to bare it all at this epic hot spot.

Picture 1: Maslin nude beach from above
You’ll get this view of South Australia’s finest nude beach as soon as you pull into the car park. Pretty spectacular, huh?

Here’s Charlie and I are super happy here. You’ll notice we aren’t naked in the photo. We were before we took it though (this isn’t OnlyFans!).
Picture 3: The south end of the best nude beach in South Australia
This is the south end of Maslin beach, which is officially the nude part but also considered the gay beach near Adelaide. There’s a huge sign that says “you must wear clothes beyond this point” the further north you go.
P.s. some people consider this to be one of the gay beats near Adelaide too, but we didn’t notice any beat-like activity.

We had to include this picture because we love how natural it looks. Going on beach strolls are one of our favourite things to do, and the drone naturally captured this shot for us when we accidentally left it on timer.

This is the northern part of Maslin, which isn’t the nude part of the beach. Still pretty though, right? You’ll see people with their dogs here. Nudists and dogs on a beach, what a treat!
